VIVAProject
Helping young people make informed, confident decisions about their health through peer-led mentorship and safe community spaces.
The Challenge & Our Approach
Helping young people make informed, confident decisions about their health through peer-led mentorship and safe community spaces.
In many of Kisumu's informal settlements, young people grow up without access to clear, accurate information about their health. The VIVA Project exists to change that. Through peer mentorship, open community dialogues, and trusted referral pathways to local health facilities, VIVA creates safe spaces where young people can ask questions, learn without judgment, and take control of their future. The program is deeply rooted in the communities it serves — operating across Manyatta, Kondele, Nyalenda, and Obunga — and led by trained peer educators who understand the realities on the ground.
What we do
- Peer-led mentorship sessions in community spaces
- Open dialogue forums on SRH topics
