Community Mentorship and Empowerment Initiative (COME) is a youth led-community centered NGO dedicated to promoting innovative ways of working with rapidly growing media and technology to tackle communications challenges presented by conflict, culture, fragile governance, poverty and environment. Through media for development, trainings and capacity building,roundtable discussions and production of inspiring and empowering radio media content, theatre performances and digital and social media, we create inclusive safe opportunities for youths and community leaders to join in dialogue and develop new solutions together.

COME's approach to media development includes tailored activities that are context-sensitive, and which also take account of the challenges and opportunities created by the rapidly changing media environment. We use the power of media and communication to help reduce poverty, improve health, save lives and support people in understanding their rights. Our aim is to inform, connect and empower people around the world. We harness our creativity on TV, radio, online and social media. We support other media organisations to create content too. We conduct research to inform, monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of our media projects.

We also have established a Community Library at Our Youth Empowerment Center where we stock books, magazines, comics and newspapers and a safe space for the young people in the community to share, learn from each other, read and acquire knowledge.
